To Use Desktop Computer with LCD Projector

  • To display computer image on projector, use the Control Panel on top of instructor station. (Pictured above)
  • Press and hold Display On button for two seconds. Screen will lower and button will blink, indicating that the projector is slowly turning on.
  • Press PC button on input selector of control panel.
  • The computer image should appear on screen.
  • Adjust volume, if needed, with volume knob on control panel.
  • To temporarily mute the image, press the PIC MUTE button on the control panel.
  • When finished, log off computer, then press the Display Off button, holding it at least 2 seconds until it starts blinking.

To Use a Laptop with Projector

  • There is a laptop cable next to the control panel. Plug laptop cable into laptop's external monitor jack, and connect the audio cable to the headphones jack on your laptop.
  • Turn on laptop. 
  • To display laptop image on projector, use the Control Panel on top of instructor station. (Pictured above)
  • Press and hold Display On button for two seconds. Screen will lower and button will blink, indicating that the projector is slowly turning on.
  • Press Laptop button on control panel input selector.
  • Laptop image should appear on screen. If image is not optimal, press the Auto Image button on the control panel.
  • If needed, adjust volume with knob on Control Panel.
  • To temporarily mute the image, press the PIC MUTE button on the control panel.
  • When finished, turn off and unplug laptop, then press the Display Off button, holding it at least 2 seconds until it starts blinking. Projector will then turn off.

To Show A DVD

  • Turn on DVD/VCR player, located inside the equipment rack. Insert DVD.
  • To display DVD image on projector, use Control Panel on top of instructor station. (Pictured above)
  • Press and hold Display On button for two seconds. Screen will lower and button will blink, indicating that the projector is slowly turning on.
  • Press the DVD button on Control Panel input selector.
  • Insert DVD in the DVD drive.
  • Operate DVD player with buttons on the top control panel.  For example, at the DVD main menu, press the arrow keys to make your selection, and press Enter to activate that selection.
  • Adjust volume using knob on Control Panel.
  • When finished, press the Display OFF button, holding it at least 2 seconds until it starts blinking. Eject DVD and turn off DVD player.

To Show A VHS Videotape

  • The VCR/DVD combo player is located inside the equipment rack. Turn on VCR/DVD player and insert tape.
  • To display VCR on projector, use the Control Panel on top of instructor station. (Pictured above)
  • Press and hold Display On button for two seconds. Screen will lower and button will blink, indicating that the projector is slowly turning on.
  • Press VCR button on Control Panel input selector.
  • Insert VHS tape in the VCR.
  • Operate VCR player using buttons on top control panel.
  • Adjust volume with knob on Control Panel.
  • When finished, press the Display Off button, holding it at least 2 seconds until it starts blinking. Eject tape and turn off VCR player.

To Use the Slide Projector(s)

  • Retrieve the Slide Projector remote control (labeled Olin Aud) from the locked projection booth. Key is available at the Circulation Desk.
  • Turn on Slide Projectors and install your carousel(s) on the slide projector.
  • Focus the first slide with the focus knob.
  • Correct slide placement in carousels if necessary.
  • Lower the screen by using the white up/down switch at the front of the room.
  • To operate the slide projector(s) from the front of the room, use the remote control labeled "Olin Aud."
  • To advance two projectors at the same time press either BOTH FWD or BOTH REV
  • Operate slide projector(s) from the Control Panel.
  • When presentation is over, turn off slide projectors, and return remote control to the projection booth.
  • To remove slide carousel from projector, return the carousel to "0" and remove.
