To Use Classroom Computer with Plasma Screen

  • Turn on computer and log in. There is a wireless keyboard/trackpad available for control from any location in the room.
  • On the control panel, press Display On.
  • Press PC button.
  • Computer image should appear on screen.
  • Adjust volume, if needed, with volume knob and volume icon on the computer's taskbar.
  • If you need to temporarily mute the audio, press AUDIO MUTE.
  • When finished, log off the computer, then press Display Off.

Using Skype

  • Follow the directions above for using the classroom computer with the tv.
  • After logging in, launch Skype by double-clicking the shortcut.
  • Use Skype as you normally would. The camera is located on top of the television.
  • Speak normally. The entire room is covered by the microphone.

To Use Wireless Keyboard

  • Remove wireless keyboard from the charging base.
  • Ensure that On/Off switch on upper right side is set to On (orange dot will appear.)
  • Place keyboard at desired location on the seminar table.
  • To move the cursor, use your finger on the round trackpad on lower right of keyboard.  (To click, double tap trackpad.)
  • To scroll vertically, place your finger on the white dot on the trackpad, and then turn clockwise to scroll down and counterclockwise to scroll up.
  • When finished, leave keyboard power on and return it to the charging base.

To Use a Laptop with Plasma Screen

  • There is a VGA cable with audio laptop cable hanging from the display post.
  • Plug laptop cable into laptop's external monitor jack.  Plug the mini audio cable into the laptop's headphone jack.
  • Turn on laptop.  On the control panel, press Display On.
  • Press Portable PC.
  • Laptop image should appear on screen.  (You may need to adjust your laptop's screen resolution to 1280 x 768 to match the plasma screen.)
  • Adjust volume with knob on Control Panel, and volume icon on the laptop's taskbar.
  • If you need to temporarily mute the audio, press AUDIO MUTE.
  • When finished, turn off and unplug laptop, then press Display Off.

To Show A DVD

  • Turn on DVD/VCR player and insert DVD.
  • On the control panel, press Display On.
  • Press the DVD button on Control Panel.
  • Operate DVD player with buttons on the control panel or remote control.
  • Adjust volume using knob on Control Panel.
  • When finished, press Display OFF. Eject DVD and turn off DVD player.
  • NB: There are both US and international DVD players. Keep this in mind when showing media.

To Show A VHS tape

  • Turn on DVD/VCR player and insert VHS tape.
  • On the control panel, Press Display On.
  • Press VCR button on Control Panel.
  • Operate VCR player using buttons on control panel or remote control.
  • Adjust volume with knob on Control Panel.
  • When finished, press Display Off. Eject tape and turn off VCR player.
  • NB: There are both US and International VCRs. Keep this in mind when showing media.

To Make An Audio Conference Call

  • There is a Polycom telephone conference unit in the classroom.  Move it to the center of the room, for best audio pickup.
  • Use it like an ordinary speakerphone.

To Make A Polycom Video Conference Call

  • There is a Polycom codec system in the rack.
  • On the control panel, press Display On.
  • Press the Codec button on the control panel
