To Use Classroom Computer with Projector

  • At the podium, there is an Extron touch panel.  Press the Audio/Video button on the touch panel.
  • Please wait while the projector starts up (45 seconds.) 
  • At the top of the Extron touch panel screen (pictured above), there are source icons.  Push the "PC" icon.
  • Log in to the computer using the keyboard and mouse at the podium.  Computer image will appear on the screen.
  • Adjust audio using the volume icon in the computer's task bar, as well as the round volume knob on the Extron touch panel.
  • To temporarily blank the image, without turning off the projector, press the "Image Mute" button on the right side of the touch panel.
  • When finished, log off the computer and turn off the projector by pressing the "System Off" button at the bottom right of the touch panel.  At the "Do you want to turn the system off" screen, select "Power Down."

To Use a Laptop with Projector

  • Plug the podium VGA cable into the VGA port of your laptop.  (If you have a Mac, you will need your VGA adapter.  If you do not have one, there are some available at the LBIS Circulation desk.)  If you have audio in your presentation, plug the mini-audio cable into the headphones jack of your laptop.  Turn on the laptop.
  • At the podium, there is an Extron touch panel.  Press the Audio/Video button on the touch panel.
  • Please wait while the projector starts up (45 seconds.)
  • At the top of the Extron touch panel screen (pictured above), there are source icons.  Push the "Laptop" icon.
  • Laptop image will appear on the screen.
  • Adjust audio using the volume icon in the laptops's task bar, as well as the round volume knob on the Extron touch panel.
  • To temporarily blank the image, without turning off the projector, press the "Image Mute" button on the right side of the touch panel.
  • When finished, turn off the projector by pressing the "System Off" button at the bottom right of the touch panel. 
  • At the "Do you want to turn the system off" screen, select "Power Down."

To Use the Microphone

  • To activate the microphone at the podium, press "Audio" on the Extron touch panel opening screen.
  • To adjust the microphone levels, press the "Speech Up" or "Speech Down" buttons on the right side of the Extron touch panel.
  • To temporarily mute the audio, press the "Audio Mute" button.
  • When finished, press the "System Off" button at the bottom right of the touch panel.  At the "Do you want to turn the system off" screen, select "Power Down."

To Show A DVD

  • The DVD player is located inside the podium. Put your DVD in.
  • At the podium, there is an Extron touch panel.  Press the Audio/Video button on the touch panel.
  • Please wait while the projector starts up (45 seconds.)
  • At the top of the Extron touch panel screen (pictured above), there are source icons.  Push the "DVD" icon.
  • Use the touch panel controls that appear to navigate the DVD menu and to play the DVD.  A remote control is also provided.
  • Adjust the volume using the volume dial on the touch panel.
  • When finished, turn off the projector by pressing the "System Off" button at the bottom right of the touch panel.  At the "Do you want to turn the system off" screen, select "Power Down."
  • Eject the DVD.

To Show A VHS Videotape

  • The VCR is located inside the podium. Put your VHS tape in.
  • At the podium, there is an Extron touch panel.  Press the Audio/Video button on the touch panel.
  • Please wait while the projector starts up (45 seconds.)
  • At the top of the Extron touch panel screen (pictured above), there are source icons.  Push the "VCR" icon.
  • Use the touch panel controls that appear to play the VHS tape.  A remote control is also provided.
  • Adjust the volume using the volume dial on the touch panel.
  • When finished, turn off the projector by pressing the "System Off" button at the bottom right of the touch panel.  At the "Do you want to turn the system off" screen, select "Power Down."
  • Eject the VHS tape.
