Map Canon Printers in Windows

January 2015 Update: All of Kenyon's Canon public printers have been replaced by new Ricoh public printers. For documentation on our Ricoh printers, please see this link. Over the months of January and February, we will be replacing all departmental Canon printers with new Ricoh printers. This documentation will remain until all the Canon printers have departed

These instructions detail how to connect a Windows PC computer to Kenyon's Canon printers.

Once you add a few printers, you might want to change your printing settings; see the links following the instructions for additional configuration options.

  1. Select Start > Devices and Printers. Also make sure you are signed into the Kenyon network first!

  2. Click Add a Printer from the menu items towards the top of the window.

  3. When the Add Printer window appears, select Add a network, wireless or Bluetooth printer, then click Next.

  4. Select The printer that I want isn't listed. You don't have to wait for Windows to stop looking.

  5. Check the Select a shared printer by name option.

  6. In the text box, type the address of the printer you wish to map (printer names look like this: \\printers\printername). Then click Next.

  7. If the Connect to... window appears, enter "kenyon\yourusername" into the Username box and your network password in the Password box. Click OK.

  8. Enter a name for the printer you're mapping.

  9. Select whether you want this printer to be your default printer, then click Next.

  10. Click Finish to complete mapping the printer.
