Summer Library Services and Move Timeline

The Chalmers Library construction project is still underway. During June, the Serra Sculpture will be installed on the West Quad. The "Book Move" (AKA when the books are moved into the building) is scheduled to begin in early July and will last for approximately 6 weeks. This means that the library's physical materials will be unavailable for most of July and half of August. The staff are scheduled to begin moving in late June and and these moves will continue throughout the summer months

If you are interested in knowing more details about the library transition over the summer, a timeline is on the library’s homepage: The timeline will be updated regularly as plans and dates become clearer.

The Circulation Desk will remain open in Library B through at least June. Helpline will continue to be available via chat and phone. Research & Reference services will be available on a limited basis by email at (or you may contact a librarian).

If you will need any print library materials (and this includes Special Collections and Archives), we ask that you make plans before the end of the June, or sooner if possible. Special arrangements may need to be made to store and/or provide the materials.

Our online resources (464 databases, electronic journals, Digital Kenyon, and more) will continue to be available throughout the summer.

Please keep an eye on the timeline this summer as it will likely be updated often as we learn more.
