Business News and Information for Everyone from the Library

Do you run a small business, or are thinking about starting one? Are you just interested in business and industry trends? As I mentioned last month in a message to the campus, the LBIS collection of databases isn't always just for academic research for your classes. Our database in our collection cover a wide variety of topics including business and law.

We now have access to the Small Business Reference Center which offers exclusive full-text for many top consumer small business reference books, as well as tools to address many small business topics. Also included are state-specific resources, start-up business plans, and industry information.

We also offer access to

  • Nexis Uni (formerly Lexis-Nexis Academic) provides company dossiers/background information, industry publications, and legal information.
  • Statista integrates data on over 60,000 topics from over 18,000 sources onto a single professional platform. Categorized into 21 market sectors, it provides direct access to quantitative data on media, business, finance, politics, and a wide variety of other areas of interest or markets. Data sources include market research reports, trade publications, scientific journals, and government databases.

To view our entire collection of over 375 databases, go to http://kenyon.libguides.com/az.php. The library provides the campus with access to newspapers, magazines, art, movies, and more. If you ever have any questions about where to look for something or a question about the library's services, you may send a message to reference@kenyon.edu or contact the Research & Reference Desk  in person, or via chat & text (when classes are in session, the desk is closed is for Winter Break).

Most of our resources are available from off-campus, meaning you can use it at home (or wherever your travels may take you over the winter break). To log in, just use your Kenyon username and password (Duo will be required).

Or if you would rather learn a language, craft, or about auto repair over the long break
