Windows Vista Setup for SNAP
Kenyon strongly recommends that all Windows computers connecting to the Kenyon network are running a working antivirus client with up-to-date virus definitions.
These instructions assume you will be connecting wirelessly to the Kenyon Residential Network, named krsnt-g. To connect to the wired network, connect a data/ethernet cable from your computer to the network jack in your room. If you are using a data cable on a computer that has a wireless card, turn the wireless card off. You can not connect using BOTH a wired and a wireless connection. The connection instructions are similar for both wired and wireless network access.
Connecting to the Wireless Kenyon Residential Network
Turn on your computer, and open a web browser such as Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox. You should be redirected to a log-on page. The login screen will appear (see below). Enter your Kenyon username (this is the part of your email address that appears in front of the @kenyon.edu) and password. Click Log In.

You will need to sign in again after 12 hours of inactivity to continue accessing the Kenyon network.
Problems Connecting?
If you are unable to connect to the wireless network, ensure you have configured your computer using the below instructions:
Configure your Windows Vista computer for Wireless Network Access:
To successfully complete this configuration, you will need to use a Administrator account on the computer. Information about the Administrator account is determined in the initial setup of the computer. You can not get the Administrator username and password from Kenyon Staff.

Select krsnt-g from the list of available networks and click OK.
When connecting to a new network, Windows Vista may prompt you to select a network location. Click on the Public Location selection. This will help protect your computer from viruses or spyware that might be circulating on the Student network.
