ARTSTORThe ARTstor Charter Collection currently contains approximately 300,000 images; by 2006 it is expected to contain 500,000. The Charter Collection documents artistic traditions across many times and cultures and embraces architecture, painting, sculpture, photography, decorative arts, and design as well as many other forms of visual culture.
Humanities International Complete
Humanities International Index is a comprehensive database covering 1700 journals, as well as books and reference sources in the humanities. All data from American Humanities Index
is included with the addition of international coverage. This database
provides citation information for articles, essays and reviews, as well
as original creative works including poems and fiction. Photographs,
paintings and illustrations are also referenced.
Social Sciences
Citation Index (1980 - )
The Social Sciences Citation Index indexes 1,700 journals spanning
50 disciplines, as well as covering individually selected, relevant
items from over 3,300 of the world's leading scientific and technical
journals. It contains searchable, full-length, English-language author
abstracts for approximately 60% of the articles in the database.
Academic Search Premier
Academic Search Premier is the world's largest scholarly
multi-discipline, full text database designed specifically for academic
institutions. This resource indexes over 4300 periodicals and contains
full text for over 3400 scholarly publications. Academic Search Premier
includes full-page images as well as color embedded images. This
scholarly collection provides full text journal coverage for nearly all
academic areas of study - including social sciences, humanities,
education, computer sciences, engineering, language and linguistics,
arts and literature, medical sciences, and ethnic studies.
Arts and Humanities
Citation Index (1980 - )
Arts & Humanities Citation Index indexes 1,100
of the world's leading arts and humanities journals, as well as covering
individually selected, relevant items from over 6,800 major science
and social science journals.
Historical Abstracts (1972 - )
Indexes and abstracts scholarly literature on the history of the world,
except the United States and Canada, from 1450 to the present. The
subject coverage includes all branches of world history; related social
sciences and humanities disciplines when books, articles, or
dissertations in these areas are presented with an historical
perspective; and the historical profession.
MLA International Bibliography
Bibliographic citations covering scholarly work in literature,
linguistics, and folklore worldwide. Sources include journal and book
articles, dissertations, monographs, and series.
New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians Online (New Grove II Online)
The New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians covers all aspects of
music, and is used by both the academic and professional community.
Philosopher's Index (1940 - )
This index is a major source of information in the areas
of aesthetics, epistemology, ethics, logic, and metaphysics. It is also
a rich source of material on the philosophy of various disciplines,
such as education, history, law, religion, and science.
Religion Index, produced by the America Theological Society, is a comprehensive reference database designed to support religious and theological scholarship. It contains more than one million citations from 1,400+ international journal titles and 14,000 multi-author works and book reviews related to religious studies. Coverage begins in 1949.

Art in Theory 1900-1990--An Anthology of Changing Ideas [REF N 6490 A7167 1993]
This series holds texts from a wide variety of sources that address
art theory. Kenyon has on order two companion volumes : one covering
1815-1900, and one covering 1648-1815.
Encyclopedia of the Renaissance [REF CB 361 E52 1999]
This multivolume set contains articles on a variety of topics; the
index is located in the first volume. The set contains maps, some
illustrations, as well as selective bibliographies for each entry. Some
articles contain subentries so that the subject is explained in depth.
For example, Machiavelli is discussed in terms of his biography, as a
political theorist, as a literary figure, and as an influential writer
of the Western literary tradition.
An Oxford Companion to the Romantic Age, British Culture 1776-1832

This one volume resource contains thematic essays treating major topics
in Romanticism (Law and Democracy), but it also contains a historical
dictionary for quick definitions. The essay portion of the book
includes a selective bibliography and a thorough index.

Unversity of Virginia Electronic Text Center. The University of Virginia was an early innovator in providing electronic texts on the web. The E-text Center contains vast holdings in multiple languages, not necessarily in the public domain.
