International Bibliography of Theatre and Dance
IBTD is an index to journal articles, books, book articles and dissertation abstracts on all aspects of theatre and performance. Since 1984, the Theatre Research Data Center (TRDC) at Brooklyn College has published 14 volumes of the IBTD. TRDC will continue indexing various titles for the database as well as coordinating international contributors. The database contains full text for more than 100 periodicals and 100 monographs.

Film & Television Literature Index with Full Text
Film & Television Literature Index is a comprehensive bibliographic database covering the entire spectrum of television and film writing. Subject coverage includes film & television theory, preservation & restoration, writing, production, cinematography, technical aspects, and reviews. The databases indexes 270 titles completely and an additional 300 selectively.

Academic Search Complete
Academic Search Complete is a comprehensive scholarly, multi-disciplinary full text database designed specifically for academic institutions. This resource contains more than 5,300 full-text periodicals, including 4,400 peer-reviewed journals. In addition, Academic Search Complete offers indexing and abstracts for more than 9,300 journals and a total of 10,900 publications including monographs, reports, conference proceedings, etc. The database features PDF content going back as far as 1865, with the majority of full text titles in native (searchable) PDF format.

Lexis-Nexis (Academic Universe)
Academic Universe is a web-based subset of the traditional Lexis-Nexis service, providing access to full text news, legal, business and reference sources. Useful source for reviews of dramatic, film and dance performances in major national and international newspapers.

ITER (Medieval and Renaissance Studies) (1983 - )
ITER is a bibliography of approximately 918,000 records for articles, essays, books, dissertation abstracts, encyclopedia entries and reviews, collected from over 6,000 publications, including over 1,600 journals. Updated daily and with more than 60,000 new records added annually, this research tool will be of great use to scholars interested in the Middle Ages and Renaissance (400-1700).

WorldCat (updated daily)
Catalog of library holdings throughout the country and world. Contains records for any type of materials: books, sound recordings, video recordings, manuscripts, etc. It is updated daily.

Full Text Drama Databases

Editions and Adaptations of Shakespeare
The complete text of eleven major editions of Shakespeare's works from the First Folio to the Cambridge edition of 1863-6, twenty-four separate contemporary printings of individual plays, selected apocrypha and related works and more than 100 adaptations, sequels and burlesques from the seventeenth, eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.

English Prose Drama
English Prose Drama is based on plays listed in the New Cambridge Bibliography of English Literature that were written or intended for the stage and wholly or primarily in prose; English Prose Drama complements English Verse Drama.

English Verse Drama
English Verse Drama (EVD), published by Chadwyck-Healey, contains the full text of over 2200 plays by more than 500 named authors and 300 anonymous works, from the Shrewsbury Fragments of the late Thirteenth Century through the end of the Nineteenth Century.

Women Writers Oline
Published by the Women Writers Project at Brown University, this database offers full-text access to early modern writings by women (1400-1850) that includes plays, medical texts, natural history, and domestic manuals. Authors are primarily English and American.

Literary Encyclopedia
The Literary Encyclopedia is a global literary reference work written by over 1500 specialists from universities around the world, and currently provides over 4000 authoritative profiles of authors, works and literary and historical topics. 600-800 new profiles are added each year.

Electronic Dictionaries

American Heritage Dictionary
This is the web-based version of the American Heritage Dictionary. In addition to standard entries, the AHD includes many entries for relatively new words (like call waiting, latte or AZT), biographical entries, and entries for institutions of higher education, including mailing addresses.

OhioLINK Thesaurus of English Language
The OhioLINK Thesaurus of the English Language is a general-purpose thesaurus intended to help writers improve the quality and accuracy of their writing. By presenting a broad choice of synonyms, authors can find, compare, and select the words to express their ideas precisely.

Oxford English Dictionary
The OED2 corresponds to the 20 volume set published in 1989. This resource can be searched by the full-text of the entire dictionary, etymologies, definitions, and quotations.
