These databases can help you find a wide range of materials, including articles (some full-text), books, and even digital images.

ARTSTOR
The ARTstor Charter Collection currently contains approximately 300,000 images; by 2006 it is expected to contain 500,000. This collection documents artistic traditions from across many times and cultures and embraces architecture, painting, sculpture, photography, decorative arts, and design as well as many other forms of digital culture.

Academic Search Premier is the world's largest scholarly multi-discipline, full text database designed specifically for academic institutions. This resource indexes over 4300 periodicals and contains full text for over 3400 scholarly publications. Academic Search Premier includes full-page images as well as color embedded images. This scholarly collection provides full text journal coverage for nearly all academic areas of study - including social sciences, humanities, education, computer sciences, engineering, language and linguistics, arts and literature, medical sciences, and ethnic studies.

References western-language monographs (books), articles and book chapters on all parts of Asia published since 1971.

Historical Abstracts[1960-]
Indexes and abstracts scholarly literature on the history of the world, except the United States and Canada, from 1450 to the present. The subject coverage includes all branches of world history; related social sciences and humanities disciplines when books, articles, or dissertaions in these areas are presented with an historical perspective; and the historical profession.

Index Islamicus [1906-1998- ] [Information Center CD-Rom]
The Index Islamicus includes citations to the worldwide literature in European languages on Islam, the Middle East and the Muslim world. Do not be intimidated by this resource. If you cannot find a cited article in our collection, you can use interlibrary loan to request the item.

JSTOR
Provides access to the full content of a variety of scholarly journals. Coverage generally begins with volume one of a journal, and ends 2-5 years from the present. Journals may be browsed or searched. Specific Asian Studies journals include:

OhioLINK Electronic Journal Center
Includes the full text social sciences journals from Elsevier, Academic Press, Project Muse, Springer-Verlag and Kluwer Academic. Browse by title, do keyword searches, search broadly by discipline.

PAIS
Indexes and abstracts the world's public affairs literature. Fields covered include political science, international relations, economics, and other social sciences. Types of materials indexed included journal articles; books; government documents; and statistical compilations.

Social Sciences Abstracts [1994-] Indexes and abstracts articles from English-language periodicals published in the United States and elsewhere. Coverage includes a wide range of interdisciplinary fields covered in a broad array of social sciences journals.

From the University of Texas, this collection of digital maps includes historical and contemporary maps of Asia.

Selected Internet Sites

Digital South Asia Library This resource is a collaborative effort funded by the Mellon Foundation. The site provides access to articles in Urdu, Tamil, and English language journals. There are maps, images, and full-text access to 19th century reference texts and Official publications of India titles.
