Mapping Network Printers (Windows XP)

Kenyon offers free printing in many of the public labs located throughout campus. Network users may print to these printers by using public lab computers or by connecting to the printers directly from their personal computers.

  1. Select Start > Settings > Printers and Faxes.
  2. Click Add a printer.
  3. When the Add Printer Wizard appears, click Next.
  4. Click the button next to A network printer, or a printer attached to another computer, then click Next.
  5. Type the address of the printer you wish to map (printer names look like this: \\printers\printername), then click Next. For a list of public printers click here.
  6. If the Connect As... window appears, enter kenyon\username in the Username box and your network password in the Password box.
  7. If prompted to install a new driver, click Yes.
  8. Select whether you want this printer to be your default printer, then click Next.
