Password Change using Public Lab Windows Computer
- Log into any Kenyon lab computer running Windows. If your password is expired or will soon expire, Windows may prompt you to change your password now. If it does, skip to Step 3.
- Once logged in, type
Ctrl-Alt-Delete. - In the window that appears, click Change Password.
- Verify that your username is correct and that the domain (the Log on to field) is set to
KENYON. Then, in the appropriate forms, enter your old password, then your new password twice. Make sure your new password meets the new password requirements:- Must be at least 8 characters long
- Former passwords cannot be re-used
- Password must meet complexity requirements:
- Cannot contain all or part of the user's account name
- Must contain characters from at least three of the following four categories:
- English uppercase characters (A through Z)
- English lowercase characters (a through z)
- Base 10 digits (0 through 9)
- Non-alphabetic characters (for example, !, $, #, %)
Your new password must meet the following criteria:
- A window should now pop up telling you that your password was successfully changed. If not, make sure that you are entering the password correctly both times and that it fulfills the requirements.
- Click Cancel to return to your login session, or click Log Off to log off.
