Configuring Mozilla Thunderbird

  1. Open Thunderbird.
  2. In the Account Wizard window, select Email account. Click Next.
  3. Enter your name and Kenyon email address, then click Next.
  4. In the window that appears, select IMAP.
  5. In the box next to Incoming Server, enter securemail.kenyon.edu.
  6. In the box next to Outgoing Server, enter securemail.kenyon.edu.
  7. Enter your Kenyon username in the Incoming User Name box, then press Next.
  8. Give the account a name, then click Next.
  9. Review the information, then click Finish.
  10. Press OK for the Alert message that will pop up.
  11. Select Tools > Account Settings.
  12. In the lefthand column of the Account Settings window, select Server Settings.
  13. Set the Port as 993.
  14. Under Security Settings, check SSL as the secure connection.
  15. In the lefthand column, select Outgoing Server.
  16. Select securemail.kenyon.edu and click Edit.
  17. Set the Port number as 465.
  18. Check the box next to Username and password.
  19. Check SSL in Use Secure Connection.
  20. Click OK.
  21. Click OK to exit Account Settings.
  22. Click the Get Mail icon on the toolbar to retrieve your emails.
