Configuring Mac Entourage for Securemail
- Note: These instructions assume you are already using Mac Entourage as your mail client and simply want to change it to use the Securemail service.
- In Mac Entourage click Tools, then Accounts. Click the Edit icon (or tab). The Account Settings screen appears.
- In the IMAP server field under the Receiving Mail section enter securemail.kenyon.edu
- Enter your username (don't add on "@kenyon.edu") in the Account ID field.
- Click on the bar that says click here for advanced receiving options.
- In next screen checkmark This IMAP server requires a secure connection (SSL).
- The incoming mail's Port number should now display 993.
- LEAVE BLANK the box next to Always use secure password.
- Return to Accounts Settings screen. In the SMTP server field under the Sending Mail section enter securemail.kenyon.edu
- Click on the bar that says click here for advanced sending options.
- In next screen checkmark This SMTP server requires a secure connection (SSL).
- Checkmark SMTP requires authentication.
- Checkmark Use same settings as receiving mail server.
- Click OK. The configuration is now complete.
- Return to message list and send a test message to yourself to confirm that the new Securemail service works for your mail client.
- Note: On Macs, if you have filters set up, recheck them to make sure the folders that collect your filtered messages are named correctly. Go into the Filter option and re-select the folder names.
